Objectives

Program’s Mission  and Objectives
 
The Program’s mission is to train experts and develop research aimed at finding and promoting the use of our natural resources on a local, regional, and national level while offering scientific solutions to the critical environmental conflicts related to the exploitation of these resources.
 
1) Develop high-level research to expand the knowledge of Geosciences, not only in the state of Bahia and neighboring regions, but also at an international level;
2) Transfer  the generated knowledge to managers, stake-holders, and the society in general;
3) Increase the regional expertise on themes related particularly to mineral resources, hydrocarbons, the coastal and marine environments, water resources, and environmental geology;
4) Establish regional, national, and international partnerships in order to increase visibility of the Program at the national and international level.
